About us

The Zarić Distillery was established on the tradition and within the premises of the former and famous brandy distillery "Povlen" whose old fame was fading out for two decades until the start of the Zarić family business. In spite of fruit growing tradition of the area of Kosjerić, the old "Povlen" to lost its shine due to different circumstances.

We were decisive to use the potential of this fruit growing area and the tradition of producing the top quality brandy in the first place, we invested our greatest capacities in modernizing and reconstructing the existing plants for fruit processing and distillation, thus increasing the demand for fruit growing in this area, as well as the production capacities.

Great financial investments, commitment and willingness to bring together the top technology, modern science, experience and old Serbian tradition in the best possible way enabled us to make the old "Povlen" shine again as a new Zarić Distillery, the most modern brandy distillery in the southeast Europe.

Our distillery will produce 3 million liters of brandy a year made of different fruits grown in the vicinity of Kosjerić, in the first place of plum cultivars “Pozegača”, “Trnovača" and ”Crvena ranka”, and raspberries characteristic for this area. We are looking forward to producing brandy made of pear, quince and apricot that will soon appear in the market.

For the purposes of Distillery business, 1500 families dealing with fruit growing have been engaged and increased their crops, which has a direct impact on the improvement of living standard of fruit growers and the economic development of the whole area. The distillery employs 45 experts performing the activities of fruit processing, starting from distillation to the filling.

The Zarić Distillery exports the greatest quantities of the produced brandy to Germany and Austria.
