The brandy with the flavour of juniper or flavoured plum-brandy is a famous brand of the fruit growing area of Kosjerić. It belongs to the group of special natural brandies. This brandy owes its epithet of being a healthy brandy to the berries of healing juniper plant. This brandy brand is produced from a base of carefully selected plum-brandy, distilled by adding rape and dried juniper fruits that give it all their healing and aromatic compounds to it during the controlled main fraction. Since plum and juniper fruits do not ripe at the same time, it is important that ripe juniper berries should be dried and ground well and thus preserved for the time when they could enrich the brandy with their flavour. This brandy ages in oak barrels that give it a fine dark touch, while it keeps a clear dark gold colour. |
"Klekovača" has a rich, intensive and very sophisticated fragrance and aromatic and lasting flavour. Its flavour is characteristic for its silkiness, richness and harmony, with medium-long, discrete and appealing bitterness.
It is recommended to be served at room temperature, as an aperitif or digestive. It goes well with appetizers of stronger or more salty taste, but it also goes well with dry cookies at the end of a meal, such as cookies made of walnuts.
